PRESSURE COOK MUTTON WITH LITTLE ONION, TOMATO, GREEN CHILLY, GINGER GARLIC PASTE, TURMERIC POWDER AND SALT, SO THAT THE MUTTON GETS COOKED WELL BEFORE PREPARING THE GRAVY (Not required for chicken)
– Grind ginger and garlic to a coarse paste
– Grind pearl and big onions to a coarse paste
– Chop 3 tomatoes into small pieces and 2 potatoes into cubes
– Grind coconut, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, pepper and roasted gram to a fine paste
– Add oil in a pressure cooker and saute cinnamon, 3 cloves, 1 bay leaf, 1 cardamom and 1 star marati mokku
– Add onion paste, ginger garlic paste, chicken/mutton, turmeric powder, salt, mint leaves, coriander leaves and sauté for 5 mins
– Add 3 tbsp coriander powder, 1 tbsp red chilly powder, 1 tbsp sambar powder, tomatoes and sauté for 2 mins
– Add coconut paste, potato and water
– Cook for 3 whistles and 4 mins in low flame
– If required add some coriander leaves after pressure subsides
